Site Policies
A plain-language statement of how this site handles visitor information.
Last updated: April 29, 2026
This is a fan-first tribute site celebrating the career of Roberta Williams. It does not sell products, does not host user accounts, does not collect personal information, and does not track visitors for advertising purposes. The site exists to share Roberta's work and history with people who are interested in it.
When you visit any website, your browser shares basic information automatically — your IP address, the type of browser and device you're using, and the page you came from. This site receives that information the same way every site does, and uses it only for routine operational purposes: keeping the site online, defending against malicious traffic, and getting a general sense of how many people visit.
The site does not ask you to create an account, does not host a comments section, and does not collect names, email addresses, payment information, or any other personal details directly through these pages.
The site uses a small number of cookies for ordinary website functions: remembering whether you've dismissed a notice, keeping the site running smoothly across page loads, and basic anonymous analytics that count visits. You can disable cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work normally if you do.
One button on this site links out to a newsletter run by Ken Williams (kensblog.eo.page). That newsletter is hosted on a separate platform with its own privacy practices. If you sign up, the email address you provide is collected and stored by that platform — not by this site. The newsletter is mostly about Ken and Roberta's life between books, boats, and gaming history. You can unsubscribe from any email it sends with one click.
This site links to external pages — interviews, articles, press archives, the Colossal Cave game site, museum collections, and so on. Once you click out, you're on somebody else's site under their privacy practices, not ours.
The site is hosted on commercial WordPress hosting infrastructure. The hosting provider may keep server logs for operational reasons (uptime, security, abuse prevention) under its own retention policies. If basic analytics are enabled, they record anonymous, aggregate information — page views, countries, devices — not individual visitor identities.
This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them. If a parent or guardian believes their child has somehow submitted information through this site, please contact us and we will remove it.
If anything material about how the site handles visitor information changes, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change. Significant updates may be noted on the site's home page.
